Vanilla Absolute

(Vanilla planifolia)
(1 customer review)

$22.00$44.00

Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia) from Madagascar is produced from the vanilla bean by solvent extraction (ethanol & H2O). Since it’s not an essential oil, it doesn’t have aromatherapeutic benefits and is primary used in natural perfumery. This Vanilla absolute  has a very intense aroma – much more than that of a vanilla extract. Just a single drop goes a long way!

    Vanilla Absolute / Vanilla Oleoresin

Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia) from Madagascar is produced from the fruit / bean by solvent extraction.

Our Vanilla Oleoresin has an absolutely amazing aroma. The smell is somehow both relaxing and invigorating, and quite a bit more intense than the vanilla extract found in grocery stores. It is VERY, VERY thick so before trying to access the oil which can be almost paste like in the bottle, you may need to warm the bottle in a bath of warm water. But, DO NOT microwave.

    Vanilla Absolute

A concentrated extract of vanilla obtained from the fruit of vanilla. Vanilla Planifolia, in glycerin.
Country Of Origin Vanilla Beans of Madagascan origin. Country of Manufacture Extracted in USA.
Approx. 97.5% Glycerin. Approx. 2.5% Vanilla planifolia.

    Vanilla Extraction:

A mixture of ethanol (grain alcohol) and water is used to extract the vanilla from the macerated beans. Then the alcohol and water are evaporated leaving only pure vanilla paste.

    Vanilla Absolute Blends Well With:

Benzoin, bergamot, frankincense, jasmine, lemon, mandarin, opopanax, orange, patchouli, rose, sandalwood, vetiver, ylang ylang as well as Balsam Peru, Cedarwood Atlas, Cinnamon, Clove, Coffee, Coriander, Lavandin, Orange Blossom, Patchouli, & Tuberose.

Vanilla Absolute is invaluable in natural perfumery. This vanilla oil smooths and warms floral blends, and softens the notes of conifers. The fragrance of Vanilla has universal appeal as is a calming and soothing influence on the emotions. The Aroma of Vanilla invites sensuality, relaxes inhibitions, and eases feelings of anger and frustration.

    Vanilla Absolute Aromatic Profile

Very rich, warm, with a semi-bitter undertone. Adds a warm Vanilla note in natural perfumery, and is an excellent fixative.

    Vanilla Absolute Appearance

Dark brown fluid with a thick molasses-like consistency that may require special use of a pipette to extract from bottle. So, bottle sizes are restricted to those without a dropper top and with a phenolic cone top – 5ml and larger.

    Vanilla Absolute Uses

    Natural Perfumery.

Blending Suggestions: Add drop by drop to your blends until the desired effect is achieved. We suggest using smaller amounts in your blends to start with; Vanilla tends to “bloom” (increase in aroma) in formulas and perfumes as they age, with the potential to become predominant. We love a simple blend of Vanilla Absolute and Sandalwood with just a touch of Neroli (orange blossom).

Vanilla Oleoresin is soluble in alcohol and soluble, but cloudy when dissolved in carrier oils.

Smells gorgeous! And great deal as well! Best out there at the moment as far as I can tell. There is no such thing as vanilla organic oil, (though some try to sell fakes and call it that) so from what I understand, CO2 extracts are the closest you can get to therapeutic quality vanilla since CO2 evaporates completely once the process is complete. With absolutes, there may still be left over traces of solvents in it. In any case, vanilla is so powerful that you don’t need to add much to any mixture anyway and what you spend will be well worth it for as long as this will last you!
