Borage Oil
Borage oil is a vegetable oil that is cold pressed from the seeds of the Borage plant (Borago officinalis). The oil is yellow to light-green in hue and contains the essential fatty acid called gamma-linoleic acid (GLA).
Aromatherapists have praised this fine oil of borage for its benefits as a carrier oil that is moisturizing and supports healthy skin.
Borage seed oil is more expensive than many other vegetable oils used to dilute essential oils for topical application, but a little goes a long way. Add a small amount of borage oil to a less expensive vegetable oil (such as sweet almond oil) to create a hydrating and nourishing base for diluting essential oils prior to topical application.
