Description: In the swampy conditions of New South Wales, Australia, thrives the 20 foot evergreen Melaluca alternifolia, also known as the Tea Tree plant. With cypress-like needles for leaves, its bark is papery, and its blooms are creamy white, yellow, or purple.
Today, Organic Tea Tree Essential Oil is produced not only in Australia, but New Zealand and India as well. It requires a thousand pounds of twigs and leaves to be steam distilled into 18 pounds of essential oil. The oil has a fresh, warm camphoraceous odor with a slightly spicy note and blends well with lavender, clary sage, rosemary, pine, marjoram and many spice oils.
