Vitex Essential Oil (Vitex agnus-castus) from Croatia is Conventionally Cultivated Therapeutic Quality Essential Oil steam distilled from the leaves & fruits. The color of the oil is pale yellow. color and the odor is spicy, acrid and peppery. It is said to help regulate the endocrine system and on balancing the hormonal system.

Vitex History and Origin

Vitex is a relatively tall bush growing to almost 15 feet high. The flowers are grouped at the end of the stems and they form small purple, pink or white corollas. The dark brown fruits are small and about the size of a grain of pepper. The whole plant has a peppery aroma. Vitex is found throughout the Mediterranean area and in Asia. The Latin word vitex comes from vitilium, which means “basketwork” since in olden times, the tough and resistant branches of the plant were used to make wicker fences.
