Fir Needle Essential Oil, Silver|White
A member of the Pinaceae family, the silver (or white) fir is a majestic, towering evergreen conifer found in the mountains of Switzerland, Poland, Germany, France, Canada, Austria, and the former Yugoslavia. This Austrian Essential Oil is call Silver Fir Needle by some and White Fir Needle by others so that is why we have titled int Fir Needle Essential Oil, Silver|White.
Our exceptional Fir Needle Essential Oil, Silver|White is extracted from the tree’s needles and young twigs via the process of steam distillation. Some fir needle oils sold by other companies may be contaminated by oil and gas from chain saws used in cutting the trees but we avoid these oils and obtain only the essential oil distilled from the hand-harvested tips and needles of wild or organically grown trees. Our fine Silver Fir Needle essential oil is a bit higher in price than some of these other oils but we think it’s worth it.

How to Us
Silver Fir Needle Essential Oil can be used for inhalation or for application to the skin. The aroma and actions of this essential oil are robust and a little goes a long way so use it in low amounts. For room diffusion, a drop or two on a fan diffuser is all you need. For a traditional steam inhalation, one or two drops is also sufficient. For topical use, be sure to dilute this essential oil in vegetable oil prior to putting it on the skin. A concentration of 1% is plenty and this can be achieved by adding 9 drops of this essential oil to one ounce of vegetable oil. We don’t recommend use of this essential oil in a hot bath since heat can increase the risk of sensitization if the oil is oxidized (spoiled).
Silver Fir Needle Essential oil can cause skin sensitization if it has oxidized (spoiled) and it does oxidize readily. Be sure to store this essential oil properly (in dark bottles, caps tightly secured and bottles kept away from heat, moisture and direct light). Storage in the refrigerator is recommended to increase shelf-life. We recommend discarding any unused Silver Fir Needle essential oil after 3 months of non-refrigerated storage or any time that proper storage guidelines have not been followed.
