About Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil
Our Cedarwood oil from Morocco is 100% pure, therapeutic quality essential oil steam distilled from the wood of the cedar tree.
Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil (Cedrus atlantica) from Morocco is cultivated therapeutic quality essential oil that is steam distilled from the wood. Cedarwood is native to the Atlas Mountains of Algeria and Morocco and the wild-growing plants are endangered in their native region. To protect the native species, we have chosen an essential oil produced from cultivated trees.
The Atlas Cedar Tree is a large evergreen tree that can reach heights of over 150 feet. Its spreading branches have grey-green needles, and the extremely fragrant wood is famously resistant to rot, making it an ideal wood for building.
Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil Description
The essential oil of Cedarwood is thick, slightly sticky, and is yellow to deep amber in color. It has a sweet, woody aroma with balsamic undertones and a top note that is warm and slightly sharp. This oil blends well with other essential oils that are woody and floral, such as clary sage, cypress, frankincense, juniper, ylang ylang, and bergamot.
Long considered a sacred plant, Cedarwood has held a special place among the religions and medicines of many different cultures. The ancient Egyptians used it as part of the embalming process and it was also used in temple building in many places around the world. The Tibetans used cedarwood as a therapeutic herb and, because of its intensely pleasing fragrance, it has been widely used as a temple incense for centuries.

I love this woodsy masculine scent and it goes well with vetiver, sandalwood, and patchoulli. I love it’s grounding properties that help me center my thoughts. If making any masculine products this is a must have.
